Service Description | Logo Design

Every logo design package includes the same level of attention to detail and years of experience behind the designer creating it. The only difference is the amount of time we spend creating that detail. You will receive a logo in any or all of the common formats, along with the master art file for your own keeping.

As a business/product manager or brand owner, you may need a powerful visual mark, or trademark, that elevates the awareness of your business. We offer you exactly that: a logo design that you or your company can proudly stamp onto every letterhead, packaging box, or email blast, so that you can claim each and every piece you so thoughtfully craft, as yours.

And of course, should you want to make a bigger splash, we offer full branding and print services.

Process | Logo Design

Schedule meeting –> identify needs –> find and review samples –> create timeline –> execute design –> revise –> deliver

First, you schedule a meeting with Jonathan (or hash out details via email) where we will discuss your business, your brand ‘vibe’ or mission, and a timeline for the project. Often times, we will scour several resources to find existing concepts to share with you in order to find a flavor you like.

Second, we follow along the timeline, typically delivering the first concepts within a week.

Third, we advance through the revision(s) and arrive to a great conclusion: your awesome logo.

Who is Logo Design for?

Logo design is perfect for small and large businesses of all shapes and sizes, freelancers, specific product lines, and more. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

——————

What happens if I want more revisions, or I don’t like the initial concepts?

We may need to adjust project scope. This is very rare.

We strive to get it right the first time. The initial meeting (described in the process above) is crucial for understanding the identity of your brand or business. We have yet to find a client that hasn’t appreciated our time and attention to their brand, and we’ve found great successes in our process: find existing concepts > discuss likes and dislikes, colors, feel > deliver first concepts > revise (repeat step as necessary) > deliver.

Should you need more than the allotted revisions, we will need to adjust the scope of the project and potentially increase the cost as per our hourly agreed rate. This rarely, if ever, happens.

What’s the difference between a Trademark (™) and a Registered Trademark (®)?

A (™) is unregistered and can be applied at will; to receive an (®) the trademark must be registered via the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

A Trademark is simply a claim that you make as you are operating in business. This claim can be applied to several things such as a logo, service, phrase, tagline, etc. Establishing this trademark claim helps others identify your business. It is not required to trademark anything you do—but why would you not?

A Registered Trademark is a claim that has been registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and applies to all the trademark statements made above, but also as a means to protect your claim in the event of a discrepancy with another business. It essentially means that you are paying to register your claim, and can rightfully pursue another business in court should they begin to riff off of your business claims. Or vice versa, should you try to leverage another company’s registered trademark.

We are happy to apply a (™) to your logo, and should you pursue legal registration with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (we do not offer this service) and return to us with the news of registration, we’re happy to update your logo to include (®) free of cost.

What can I do to assist or speed up the process?

Provide examples of other logos that you like.

Great question! The longest process involved in designing of logos is typically pinpointing what the client wants. What we mean by this is not “do I want a logo?” but rather “I am not sure what kind of logo I want.” If you are in this position, which many are, doing some basic hunting and gathering of logos you like that already exist, and then bringing them to share in our meeting, will greatly expedite the process.

Another thing to keep in mind is “the where” that this logo will live or be seen most often (i.e. on a letterhead, on your website, on retail packaging).

——————

What other services feed into this one?

Your logo is the trademark that you will apply to virtually everything your brand or company touches. Here are some things we can apply your logo to:

  • Brand Identity Design
  • Brochure Design
  • Sell Sheets
  • Pitch Decks
  • Packaging Design
  • Websites
  • And more

Who keeps the master file?

We both do.

We will deliver a copy of the master file to you, should you request it, and we will keep a copy ourselves. In the event you wish us to destroy our copy of your logo, we will do so. We only hang on to the master file for reference with future clients, to rework it for you in the future, or in the event you lose your copy so that we may restore it for you (free of charge, of course).
